Meet Sophia! She is a Graphic and Interactive Design Major with a Film and Television Minor at Quinnipiac University. She’s in an accelerated dual-degree program, meaning she is also earning her master’s in Interactive Media and Communication. Sophia chose this master’s program to expand her skillset, become a more strategic designer, and get more practice in her field.
Currently, Sophia works as an Assistant Stylist at Meraki & Co. Wedding + Event Styling. In this position, she help design unique wedding invitation suites, signage, backdrops, and more.
She also works as a freelance social media manager for Untangled Hair Studio in Midland Park, NJ. She’s served as social media manager for
on-campus clubs like Quinnipiac’s chapter of AIGA and Quinnipiac Tonight, the school’s version of Saturday Night Live.
Sophia aspires to work as a branding and packaging designer after graduation. She loves the strategic and creative aspect of brand
design. Some of her favorite projects so far are branding and packaging
related. In 2025, she redesigned packaging for Burpee’s seed packets, designed branding concepts and materials for an airline, brunch
spot, and film festival.
Freshman year of college Sophia began to teach herself After Effects to help create title graphics for Quinnipiac Tonight. She loved it! After practicing more with animation, she created concept logo animations for Spotify, National Geographic, Boom Chicka Pop, and the airline branding.
Sophia has loved the arts her entire life. She is a performer and danced for 15 years, with her favorite styles being contemporary and jazz. She loves theater as both a fan and as an actress. In 2024 and 2025, Sophia was able to attend the Sundance Film Festival and see some of her favorite movies of all time before they were released. She loves to sing, although she isn’t always the best at it (she does have her moments, though). Recently, she’s been testing out printmaking as a hobby and is looking to try out papermaking.
When Sophia isn’t designing, you can find her chatting with friends, taking care of her plants, playing a cozy video game, or watching Supernatural. She’s probably listening to her favorite band, The Backseat Lovers, and wishing she were with her two cats.
